Set against the backdrop of politics, Daas Dev tries to retell the story of the iconic lover Devdas but with a Hamlet Twist.

As we bring together the works of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay and William Shakespeare, Daas Dev is a story revolving around Dev Pratap Chauhan, a lover boy caught in the web of politics. Being in politics was never his dream but Dev has to pay the price of being born in a political family.  After the untimely demise of his father who runs a political party, Dev is the legal heir. With a complicated family wherein his uncle [his father’s brother] has an illicit relationship with his mother, Dev tries to stay away from this world but when his uncle as the leader gets shot, he doesn’t have much of an option.

On the other hand, his love for Paro has only grown with time! But all hell breaks loose when Paro’s father Naval Singh is arrested. Her family begs the Chauhans for help but in vain. That’s when she is married to the widowed politician Ramashray Shukla. On the other hand, Chandni Mehra is a political fixer who sleeps with politicians to get things done! She has always been in love with Dev but knows that she can never be his!

Burdened with responsibilities and his love for Paro, Dev has to deal with reality and a political game that has just gotten murkier!
